Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - 11/20/13

This is the first time I am entering in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Blog. Here is the sketch:

And here's the card that I came up with:

I've been using the retired Stampin' Up No Peeking stamp set a lot this year!!  I got it at the end of last year and wasn't able to use it much before Christmas last year.  Not that I don't make holiday cards all year, but it's not to be able to use it again without feeling that Christmas is sooooo far away!  I also used the Petite Pairs set for the sentiment.

Owl Punch Turkey Card

This is the second of my November workshop cards with the residents at the Luther Manor Retirement Community.  We had lots of fun making these cute turkey cards for them to give to their friends and family on Thanksgiving!

I am also linking it to this week's CAS Project with Leaves challenge over at The Paper Players.

Halloween Spider Web

This is my third and final card from my October workshop at the River Oaks Retirement Community with Samantha Hanson:

Super simple, but it turned out cute and was really fun to make.  I just wrapped some white string around a piece of kraft cardstock added some stamps and pasted it to a white card background.  Perfect for quick halloween cards!

One of the residents was having so much fun that he made ten of these cards to send to his family and friends for Halloween:

Magnificent Maple Leaves

Here is the second card that I made for the River Oaks October workshop with Samantha Hanson:

I think this is one my favorite cards that I've made this year!!  I love the new magnificent maple stamp from stampin' up and it works perfect with another little leaf stamp I found laying around. I wouldn't normally put them together, but these colors are so fun for fall cards!!

We took some pictures at the workshop of the residents hard at work:

Boo Crew Candy Critters

Here is the first of three cards that I used for a card workshop with Samantha Hanson at the retirement community at River Oaks where she works as the life enrichment specialist.  I had tons of fun and meet some really neat people!  It was such a blast coming up with designs for the workshop!

Halloween is over, but my first card features the Boo Crew set from Newton's Nook Designs.  I cut out and colored a bunch of the different stamps in this set for the residents to pick from.  I love all of the cute little candy stamps and halloween sayings that this set comes with!!  The residents enjoyed making the cards and sending them to their family and friends :)

Hope Card

Today I wanted to share with you a simple little card that I made for last month National Breast Cancer Awareness month:

I meant to post it weeks ago, but it somehow got lost in my many piles!  I made this card for my boyfriend's mom to give to her friend who is going through chemo treatments.  For this card, I used my new Hope Dies from Paper Smooches.  There is also a really cute Hope stamp set that goes it them as well!  Super cute and such a great cause!!!

CASology #69

This is the first time I'd had a chance to play along with the CASology challenge.  I love this challenge because, just like the name states, it focuses on clean and simple designs.  I love looking at the cards that everyone comes up with!  This week's theme was brown:

Here's what I came up with:

For this card, I used the No Peeking set from Stampin' Up.  I ordered it at the end of last year, so I haven't gotten to use it as much as I'd like!  The stamps are so cute and they are perfect for holiday cards!  I also used my new More Merry Messages stamps for the greeting.

Paper Players Challenge #170

I was on a roll last night with challenges!  This is my second post for the day... you can see my Inky Paws Challenge post here.

This week's theme at the Paper Players was Wildlife:

Here's what I came up with:

I just got my new Stampin' Up Zoo Babies stamp set in the mail last week so I just had to try it out right away!!  Plus I needed to make a baby card for an upcoming baby shower and all of the ones I had were pink.  All of the animals are super cute and I love the different textured patterns!!

Inky Paws Challenge #4

It's time for another Inky Paw Challenge over at Newton's Nook Designs!

Here's the sketch:

And here's what I came up with for the challenge:

I went a little overboard on this one last night...the new stamps for the Holiday Release are just so cute!!!  I love how all of the stamps go so well together.  For this one I used the little dog from Canine Christmas and the milk and cookies from Newton's Holiday Mischief.  I made the first place by cutting out little blocks and added some Christmas stockings from Holiday Wishes.  The fireplace looked a little empty so I put in the campfire from Campfire Tails and added some gems to top it off!

I can't wait to make more cards with these stamps this year!!

Plus the dog looks just like my puppy Hannah :)
